Description of the blog

DAY 16: 21-Day Yoga Challenge: Time to Shine!
DAY 16: 21-Day Yoga Challenge: Time to Shine!

Welcome to Day 16 of the 21-Day Yoga Challenge: Time to Shine!

Tuesday, September 24.

Part of a good challenge is that it’s actually challenging at times. If you’ve noticed yourself getting comfortable always picking the shorter class option, today you have the choice to take a longer practice with Pradeep.

If you feel like you need to wake everything up a little, twists with Keith will rejuvenate you.

Today we invite you to look at why it feels satisfying to challenge yourself sometimes. It's a fine line between being kind and gentle with your body, and challenging yourself. If you’re always pushing it 120% percent, it’s possible to burnout and feel like you’re never good enough. On the other hand, if you never challenge yourself it’s possible to get lazy, stagnant, and not live up to your full potential.

The goal is finding a point in between. We’d love to hear from you. Are you always challenging yourself, never challenging yourself, or have you found a nice balance? We’re all different, so there’s no right or wrong answer. Keep up the amazing work, and trust that right now is one of those times where challenging yourself is exactly what you need.

Today's class choices:

Twist:

Twist & Flow with Keith Allen

35 min class | Level: Adv. Beginner & Up | Intensity: You'll Feel It

This practice does a little bit of everything, with an extra emphasis on twisting. Moving at a healthy pace, this class has moments of flowing and moments to hold poses and take your time and explore twisting in your body. Deep breathing is essential for powerful twists, so the breath is concentrated on throughout this class. There are tools and tips given about twisting in this class that can be essential and useful for you to take with you in your yoga practice.

Fire:

Feel the Heat with Pradeep Teotia

95 min class | Level: Adv. Intermediate | Intensity: Bring a Towel

This class is a slow flow focused on the lower half of the body, mainly the hips, hamstrings and quadriceps. Because of the physical focus, this class is great for any athlete, gym rat or regular Joe with tight hamstrings.

After spending time stretching the above mentioned body parts, you will give Hanumanasana, or the splits, a try. If you've never done hanumanasana before, give this class a try! This class isn't for the people who are naturally flexible, this class is for all my tight, inflexible friends!

**you only need to choose one class**
