2024 Clearing and Cleansing 2-Week Spring Challenge

Day 11 - 2-Week Spring Challenge for Clearing and Cleansing

Day 11 - 2-Week Spring Challenge for Clearing and Cleansing

Welcome to Day 11 of our 2-Week Spring Challenge for Clearing and Cleansing!

Thursday, April 18th

Welcome to day eleven of YogaDownload's 2-Week Yoga Challenge for Clearing and Cleansing! Today, we invite you to explore the intricate balance of release and alignment as you dive deep into practices that nourish your neck, shoulders, and alignment.

Join Dana Hanizeski in Deep Release for the Neck and Shoulders, a practice designed to unravel tension and restore mobility in these key areas. This class will guide you through gentle yet effective movements that encourage deep release and relaxation.

Alternatively, flow with Celest Pereira in Going Out of Alignment, a unique practice that challenges traditional notions of alignment. This class will inspire you to explore new movement patterns and find freedom in breaking away from the conventional.

As you move through today's practice, allow yourself to let go of expectations and embrace the journey of exploration. Tune into the sensations in your body and honor what feels right for you in each moment.

Whether you choose to release tension in your neck and shoulders or explore new movement patterns, know that you're nurturing your body and spirit with each breath and movement. Enjoy the practice, and may you find joy in the exploration of your practice today.

**Remember, if you're feeling in the mood for something different you can choose any of our free classes on our site (or any other class you'd like!).

The most important thing is to show up and get on your mat!

Deep Release and Relaxation:

Deep Release for the Neck and Shoulders with Dana Hanizeski

40 min class

Level:  Beginner | Intensity: Ahhhhhh

The sequence of this class will twist, open and align your body. You can look forward to stretches for the neck and shoulders, as well as techniques to balance the head in between the neck and shoulders. You will leave feeling centered, open and refreshed!

Explore New Movement:

Going Out of Alignment with Celest Pereira

30 min class

Level: Intermediate | Intensity: You'll Feel It

This class is about challenging how you relate to each pose by shifting the alignment, therefore making your body work harder and progress faster. You will challenge the way you normally interact with your practice in order to grow. Enjoy!

Celest’s class today was particularly challenging for me. I enjoyed it but felt disconnected. It was a great class that I will try again though!

Did the neck and shoulders late last night then went straight to bed. It felt so great and woke up with a much better neck this morning. Going to incorporate that one to do once a week. It felt that good!!

Avatar  Sarah last weekReply

I substituted Jackie's Anytime Wind Down tonight before bed. Goodnight!

Really loved Celest’s class. I could feel that different muscles were being used… and I’m sure I’ll be sore in unusual parts tomorrow!

Avatar  Niki last weekReply

Both classes today! Dana's was a nice release. It felt kind of intense but I think I needed it. Celest's was really interesting, challenging, and fun! I love her voice too.

Avatar  Desyree last weekReply

Dana's class was interesting. Not sure I felt a lot. Maybe it is supposed to be subtle. I want to go back to it when I have a tight neck and see if I will feel anything different.

Avatar  Carolyn last weekReply

I loved Deep Release for the Neck and Shoulders with Dana Hanizeski with the focus on using the towel and props throughout. I have had a neck issue and these were outstanding poses and methods that I will use again and again. I really appreciate the challenge!

I only had space for a short practice tonight but I’m still so glad I got onto the mat. I did Ali Duncan’s back release. Feeling looser. Really enjoyed her cuing and messaging. I plan to do the neck release a different day. It looks wonderful!

Deep release for neck and shoulders was excellent for me tonight.

Wow, the effortless handstand of Celeste Pereira was so cool!

Avatar  Angie last weekReply

Deep Release for Neck and Shoulders all the way! My most problem areas tacked today.

Avatar  Kathy last weekReply

I was going to try Celest's class; however, after reading some of the comments and reviews, knew I needed a gentler practice tonight, so I went with Jackie's Cool Down Yoga, which was just the right pace for me. It's been a busy and long day. I plan to go back and try both classes from today at some point. Namaste.

I was lazy today so I went with Dana's neck & shoulders class. That was definitely a different kind of class for me. I've also never tried downward dog with blocks. Interesting class & verrrry relaxing. Learn something new every day!

Avatar  Robin last weekReply

I chose Dana’s class this evening. What a great class to take after sitting in front of my computer all day at work!

Avatar  Lindsay last weekReply

Day 11 was magical for my neck and shoulders as I did Dana's class to release them. I could feel the tension just disappear as I moved through the stretches. I'll have to remember some of those because these exercises had my head, neck, shoulders and even my upper back feeling SO GOOD! Love it! Namaste!

Avatar  Kaye last weekReply

As much as I love Celest's classes I didn't have the energy for it after a hard workout earlier in the day. Dana's class was just what I needed after a busy day. It certainly ironed out some kinks in my neck and shoulders.

Avatar  Baynicole last weekReply

I tried Deep Release for the Neck and Shoulders with Dana. I different type of class but worth a try. Thanks!

Avatar  josie last weekReply

The body is so interesting in the way it craves the unfamiliar. This 'out of alignment' sequence was just what the doctor ordered to push the body and mind so that it would grow.

Avatar  Pat last weekReply

I tried to do Celest's class, but found it difficult to follow and some of the moves were hard for me. I chose one of Jackie's shorter classes which gave me a little bit of movement that I could do.

Avatar  Skaita Yogi last weekReply

Life happened, and although I wanted to do Celest Pereira’s class, that I’ve done before and loved, I had to go for a very short upper body opening class instead. Most classes have had pigeon and hip openers, tonight I needed some Keith Allen instead. :-D

Avatar  Julia last weekReply

I've had chronic pain in my neck so I did Dana's class. The towel and wall were helpful. I will eventually come back to also do Celest's class, for the simple fact that she makes me smile. 😊

Avatar  Sarah last weekReply

I chose Celest's class today to try something new! I've done her classes before and really like her teaching style. This was the right amount of challenge for me today.

Avatar  jenndugan1 last weekReply

I selected the Deep Slow Lunar Flow: A Hip-Opening "Surgery" with Shy that I had missed earlier in the week. I did feel more opening after the class.

Avatar  Mimi last weekReply

I stretched with Dana this a.m, and feel inches taller! Om shanti.

Avatar  MPYoga last weekReply

Today, I did Dana's class and I am really feeling the length in my neck. It was a very relaxing class!

Avatar  Jamillah last weekReply

Love, Love, LOVE Celest's class and will download it for future practice. I fully embrace the concept of going intentionally out of alignment to avoid stagnation and encourage progression in my yoga practice. Thank you so much!

Avatar  Melly last weekReply

I did Celest's class which was tough! It was very interesting though and a nice change practicing out of alignment. Really enjoyed it.

Avatar  pammy last weekReply

I needed another pre-work, morning yoga practice and found the Full Body Sunrise Stretch to be so wonderful, I repeated again today. Feeling grounded, peaceful and ready for a busy day in healthcare; )

Avatar  Andie last weekReply

After my run this morning I didn’t have much time and I wanted a good stretch so I chose Kristen Gibowicz “Runners Relief “ I like that she includes a delicious IT stretch-all runner’s need it! 🙏🏼

Avatar  Terry last weekReply

I have chronic neck and shoulder issues, so opted for Dana’s Deep Release for Neck and Shoulders class. Great alignment for release. Love the towel traction and wall opening. Definitely all things to come back to and incorporate frequently to stay open! Thank you. 🙏🏻

Avatar  Susan last weekReply

Did Danas’ ‘Neck & Shoulders’ this morning. It definitely helped my neck to relax a bit and I like the way my head feels on my shoulders. I’ll definitely do this class a few times a month!

Avatar  MEAP last weekReply

Celest class was a nice way to get out of my rut and focus 🧘🏾‍♀️ my awareness on the postures

Avatar  Ashley last weekReply

Did Celestes class some parts were more advanced than I'm currently at. But enjoyed changing things up

Avatar  Jennie last weekReply

I did Deep Release for the Neck and Shoulders with Dana. I loved the exercises with the towel. My neck felt very supported.

Avatar  Linda last weekReply

I took Celest's Going Out of Alignment class this morning and it was really interesting. I really enjoyed the pigeon variations. My back feels stretched in a great way to start the day and I loved her happy personality!

Avatar  Jennifer last weekReply

I chose to do Jackie's Sunrise Flow this morning instead of one of the offered ones. I love Jackie's classes, and it helped me warm up and stretch before a busy day.

Avatar  Andrea last weekReply

I chose Celeste’s class today. I love her style and find her entertaining and clear. With that said this was not an easy class and I kept thinking how much better shape she is in that I am. It’s a great class if you’re looking for something new.

Avatar  Oralee last weekReply

Deep Release for Neck and Shoulders with Dana is unlike any other class I have taken before. Dana's neck and shoulders "workshop" has left me sitting and typing in a posture new to my body... is this what proper head alignment over the spine is supposed to feel like? I'm guessing yes! This is why I love yoga - there are infinite ways to work with the body, mind, and soul. Regardless how I feel before, I never regret dedicating my time to yoga!
