Fuggetaboutit & Flow

Kylie Larson

This class is all about moving your body to calm your mind. In rare form for my class, we start standing and begin moving right away. Class involves gentle twisting to energize the body, flow to still the mind and balance to create more focus.

The Sun Salutation B series includes balancing, twisting and smooth transitions so you can effortlessly flow through class without having to think to much.

At the peak of our class, we move deeper into twists with prayer twist, revolved half moon and and work up to hasta pada gustasana (one legged hand to big toe pose).

Straight Up Sun Salutations

Keith Allen

Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutations) are a series of poses that create inner heat, fill your body with solar energy, and are a gesture of gratitude to the sun.

There are three traditional versions of Sun Salutations: Classical Sun Salutation, Sun Salutation A, and Sun Salutation B. This class goes through each version three times each, holding each pose the first time through, and moving with the breath the second two rounds. You will get the opportunity to experience each pose and feel the effect of each version.

This class begins with a 3-minute lecture to give you an overview into why we do Sun Salutations, their benefits, and is a resource to learn and memorize each version.

Hug the Midline

Angela Kukhahn

Lets explore our core! Our core is much more than just the six pack abs that we so often think of! Grab a couple of blocks and a strap and let’s have some fun exploring how firing up our inner and outer thighs can help us connect even deeper to our core! We will warm up our wrists and shoulders, explore plank, side plank, flow a bit, find our hollowbody both on our back and balancing on our tip toes and even find a solid connection to our core in Headstand with the help of the blocks and straps! This class warms you up with sun salutations, and then gives you time to hold more strengthening postures. Expect to sweat and be challenged!

Heal Your Back with Iyengar Yoga

Dana Hanizeski

This back care Iyengar Yoga class will use a chair. You can use a yoga specific chair, or you can use a dining room chair that has a high back. Be sure you can plant your feet firmly on the ground when sitting. This sequence will include stretches and gentle spinal traction techniques, and will feel great for a lot of different bodies. It is a sequence that is particularly helpful for folks who have tight legs and back or scoliosis, people whose back gets sore when they bend forward in spinal flexion, and those who have spinal disk compression.

Meditation

Metta Meditation

Christen Bakken

Metta is the Sanskrit word for loving-kindness. In a world with such a deep need for change, it can be hard to know where to start. This meditation practice invites us to send happiness, health, and freedom out into the world without needing to leave our home. It gives the mind a job as we sit in stillness and consider who in our world could benefit from some well wishes.
