Cycle Yoga: Cardio Strength and Stretch

Fitness 'n' Yoga: Cycle/Yoga is a 30 minute cycle ride followed by a 30 minute yoga class. This video will give you the perfect balance of cardio, flexibility and strength.

The main focus of the cycle portion of this video is cycling with the rhythm of the music. Cycling with the rhythm of the music will set your rpm's or revolutions per minute. Once your rpm's are set the appropriate amount of resistance will be added to match the speed of the legs and maximize your power output or watts. The greater your power output the more calories you will burn during the ride. Other actions and movements such as cat pose, chaturanga and airplane arms will be incorporated once the rhythm and resistance is set to help tone the upper body while the lower body works. Get ready to groove as you move to the rhythm of the music!

Following the cycle ride will be a 30 minute yoga class. The yoga section of this video is designed to help you lightly tone and gently stretch your body bringing you back into balance.


Bike setup:

1. Seat height is determined by the extension of the legs. Full extension of the legs with a slight bend to prevent hyper extension.

2. Handle bar height is at seat height or slightly higher.

3. Space between handle bar and seat is determined by placing the palms of the hands on the front of the handle bar while pedaling with the knees relatively under the elbows.
