I ve been with Yoga Download for several years and WHY did it take me this long to discover this class? Jackie - as usual - is wonderful. Excellent queues, supportive, great sequencing. My hips feel heavenly. In fact, so do both my mind and body. I found myself breathing into deeper stretches and gently breathing through some of the longer holds. A perfect class. I ll be back tomorrow. Thank you Jackie and YDL!!

I loved this class. The instructions were extremely clear, the pace was perfect for developing warmth as well as allowing time for a wonderful opening. Even the music was good. I feel like I ve had a great workout as well as a restful stretch at the same time. I can see why it s in the Top 15 in 15 Years .

I come back to this class again and again. My hips feel so opwn afterwards and it s also enjoyable throughout the class. So it s not a strugglefest to get the reward at the end. And the cues not only guide the physical posture, but also the mind. A truly wonderful class. Thank you!

I ve done this class dozens of times and it never gets old. I have felt a big difference in my hip flexibility after practicing this for a few months, and alway feel great after I do this class. As always, the instruction is timed well, clear, and calming. I love Jackie s classes!

This class is the antidote to life. Between sitting too much at work, active yoga flows that put tension into my legs as they build strength, and my own tendency to store tension in my hips, my glutes, IT band, and hip flexors are almost always tight. About once a month, I unwind with this class and it really is heaven. Jackie is my favorite instructor on YDL—she always takes such good care of your body, warming you up until you can achieve things you didn’t think you could. Thank you for rescuing my tight hips once again, Jackie! And thank you for all your great classes.

This is a wonderful class for hip opening--relaxing yet intense. As advertised, the class is really focused on the hips and does not spend time on stretching or strengthening the upper body. But that makes this a good addition to my rotation to counter the running and office-chair-sitting that I do! Jackie is a great instructor with a calm demeanor and a creative approach.

This class was EXCELLENT! I ve had so much tightness in my hips and thighs. I just could seem to stretch it out on my own. I feel much lighter and have better movement after just one time. I m definitely going to repeat this one.

I love this class so much! It really opens up the hips and I always feel wonderful afterwards. I like Jackie s emphasis on breath;it s especially helpful when things get intense and I start to forget to focus on my breathing. I also really appreciate how Jackie encourages us to accept ourselves as we are and not judge ourselves. It s a great class both physically and spiritually.

There is a reason everyone rates this 5 stars... I don t often do classes over 30 mins because I tend to start clock watching instead of enjoying it. Didn t get bored or frustrated once during this class. Also, I run and this was a great way to stretch out all those muscles. Finitely marked this one in my favorites!

I love all of Jackie s classes. She is an exceptional teacher. She is so encouraging! This class was unbelievable!! My hips are very tight and this class brought a lot of release! I will continue to practice this class until i can do the poses correctly!

I am sorry to be the first to criticise this class - obviously it has been fantastic for many people so this is surely just a matter of preference, and in any case I did benefit from the sequence and enjoyed it. The small issues that I had were:
1) The pace of the movements was not ideal for me. This isn t a vinyasa class so the transitions between the asanas are not dynamic, but the amount of time in each is still rather short. I felt that I was neither building energy through movement nor allowing time to deepen the stretches fully (although certain stretches are held for longer).
2) Although other reviewers have praised the cues and this will certainly depend on your background and familiarity with this instructor, I did find myself having to come out of certain poses to check the screen because I didn t understand where to point my foot or what my arm was supposed to be doing, for example.
3) I have mainly practiced a very different style of yoga with one main teacher throughout my life, plus I m not American, and so was not familiar with some of the terms used in this class, especially where they did not correspond to the Sanskrit, eg ananda balasana = dead bug pose ; utkatasana = chair pose - if you re used to this terminology this problem will not apply and it certainly wasn t a big setback, but for if the Sanskrit names were used as well as the English version as this might allow international students to follow more easily.
4) I thought that as a hip class this one could be improved by including some wide-leg positions such as upavistha konasana or prasarita padottanasana. I found the lunges and more forward hip opening positions great and this is a really useful class for those, but it would be even better with some sideways options to complete the treatment of the hips.
In any case, I would still recommend the class and thank the teacher for some really good techniques.

this was a wonderful class. I have serious hip and pelvis issues stemming from years of gymnastics as a child and young adult. They lock up hard all the time and add working out to the mix and you have a locked up mess!
This video warmed the hips up appropriately and then got in DEEP to open the hips while going slow enough to really get in there but not so slow you stiffened up in between moves.
I HIGHLY recommend and will keep this in my arsenal of favorites!!

This is truly a Heavenly Hip Opener class by one of my favorite instructors. Having arthritis in my hips makes them painful, but with doing this class the pain/discomfort is gone. Excellent cueing, as you would expect from Jackie s classes.

This was my first Yoga Download class, and I hope I love the rest as much as I love this one. This was the first class I tried upon registering; It turned out to be a wonderful choice! I feel very calm now, and my hips are appreciating the deep stretches. I run and lift weights, so my hips seem to always be tight. I will be returning to this video often.

This class is exactly what it describes - a heavenly hip opener! It starts with a great warm-up before going really deep into hip stretches. I feel so much more open and free after this class! The directions, the modifications and the message of accepting who you are and where you are was perfect! I look forward to doing this class over and over!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this instructor. All her classes are amazing. What I really like about Jackie s teaching is that she always warms up the core meridian of the body and as a result I feel like my body has enough heat to attempt the deeper stretches without injury. This results in a much nicer feeling in my body. Well done Jackie - keep up the good work.

I ve tried a number of hip opener classes; I really liked this one! The instructor is great at talking you through the poses and making you feel good about who you are and where you re at in your practice. It isn t a flow class, but you do build heat prior to some amazing and intense hip opening poses.

I love all of Jackie s classes, especially her Hatha classes. This class is no exception, I am a weight lifter and runner and this class is exactly what I needed to open up my tight hips.
