I am enjoying the New Year yoga challenge because I am certainly moving outside my comfort (and ability) zone. An excellent class with good cues and gentle guidance, and most certainly something for me to work towards!
This was a challenging yet accessible class! I loved it!
That was quite a flow! It goes from easy to hard and harder and then, comes the WOW WOW moment. Later you will appreciate the Savasana a lot more! A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!
Class is very therapeutic. I modified to what my body can do. Great cuing and perfect pace for me.

O.SO.GOOD. A few of the poses were not accessible to me....yet. But it was beautiful to see what is possible. I love how Jack didn t repeat poses over and over, and instead moved through deeper variations of the same - allowing me to explore many new holds. Thanks so much!

i am a 25 year ashtanga practitioner having started with mati ezrati and chuck miller, later to eddie stern with whom i still practice. this class, jack said is NOT the tradiional primary series but it is as thoughtful, powerful and focused as ashtanga requires. as pattabois jois said...asthanga is not for the lazy. and neither is this beautifully presented series by jack...lovely voice and manner so that calm may be found in the deepest of poses. thank you--i will take this often....
Excellent Class . Done twice. Great cuing that takes me deeper into the same poses than with other instructors. Some fun advanced poses: arm balances, and some excellent stretches from where my body feels sore from days of yoga.
Jack is truly an amazing teacher. This is the first class of his I ve done. I m very impressed, and look forward to doing more of his classes!
I came into this class very skeptical of what I could get from it. I ve been doing yoga at home for 25+ years now but do not consider myself advanced and I do not like anything that feels rushed. I like to really sink into the poses and I love specific and thorough verbal cues. This class absolutely fits the bill! I could not get all the way into some of the poses, but I was able to do crow for the first time in my life, and that has been a specific goal of mine for over a year. I felt strong and supple at the end of the class, and worked up a nice sweat. I will definitely revisit this class.
This is one of the most enjoyable classes that I ve had the pleasure to experience on YDL. The instructor is clear and precise and compassionate. The model is someone I can all relate to who is so graceful and strong giving me hope that one day I will be able to be as good. Time flew. I will be doing this class regularly.
I love this guy!!! So good. He equips you rather than “try again, try again” which I find “nice” but not very affective
Really great class, not at all what I expected because of the ashtanga reference. However it was my first time practicing with Jack and I will definitely be looking him up again thanks to the YDL challenge!
Awesome class! I was a little intimidated to take this class after reading the description and ranking. However, I am always up for a good challenge, and that it was! A challenge but oh so good. The positions that made Jack look like a human rubber band were very difficult but I did my best! And enjoyed it! I feel sooooo good now! Namaste!
Fabulous class. Many detailed cues in each pose taught me refinements to my practice!
Loved this. Ashtanga inspired which made it more fun as you didn t know what was coming next.
Great class awesome cuing. Not everything was accessible but the cuing allowed me to work in stages up to my edge. Will be in my favorites!
This was a great, well-rounded class. I didn t switch off or get bored as I sometimes do with the longer ones. The instructions were clear and concise with no unnecessary babble.I look forward to doing this one again.

He give fantasic ques I had not head before. I was able to get into some difficult poses that Ive had trouble with before much more easily. Also a very well rounded practice.
Slower than I m used to but many new poses and new ways to enter familiar poses so still found this interesting and challenging. Loved the peak pose which was new to me. Great hip and shoulder opening. I will definitely return to this class
Thank you Jack. Amazing instruction as always and a good deliberate pace. Lots I couldn t access, but space to feel how to get there eventually without feeling inadequate or frustrated.

I love how he describes moving through the poses. It helps me stay focused and prevents my mind into non-present thinking. I will be coming back to this class again and again.
Your talent with breaking down movements into their components, and articulating each of those components is phenomenal!
FUN and challenging class, try it you will not be disappointed.
Fantastic instructions for some difficult poses. Could offer more variation poses when the peak poses are inaccessible, but for an advanced intermediate class, I was able to fill in myself. Good pacing, nice flow, and very accessible class. I will definitely do it again.
Very good alignment cues and some interesting ways of approaching poses. My one caveat is that the flow is pretty slow and the warm-up isn t really there as it is in a typical Ashtanga class. Would have helped to have more heat going as deep as this class goes. Solution: go for a short run beforehand!
Another great class by Jack. His clear and concise instruction is great. I really enjoyed the variety of poses and the progressive nature of the class. The poses were held just the right length of time. His cues helped me get the most out of my body. I also appreciated the longer class. This one will definitely end up in my library.

I have costochondritis and this class gave me some good stretches through that area. Really like the instructions!
