Yin Yoga is a slow, deep practice which is simple but not always easy. In fact, most Yin classes are meant to be challenging. Not so with this one! In Yin Yoga for Relaxation and Flexibility, we combine the long holds of Yin with some of the support of Restorative to create more ease in body and mind. Experience the renewing qualities of supported backbends, supine twists, gentle hip work and side body openers in this accessible class.

Thanks, as always, for your encouraging reviews
great yin class. loved the shoulder and upper body opening, as well as the breathing exercise at the end.
Wonderfully relaxing! Elise s calm nature and clear directions help me wind down after a busy day.
Nice, Kim. I am so glad
excellent relaxing class
Grateful for your rating and comment!
Awesome, TY Elise :)
You are so welcome!
My favorite yin class. My tight hips and shoulder blades definitely found relief.
Thank you, Elise for a most wonderful class! I recommend it to anyone in need of grounding, relaxation and to learn how to let go and just be. Loved it.
Beautiful review. Thanks so much.
Wow! How have I missed this class these past 4 years? I love Elise. This was exactly what I needed this morning. Thank you!
I am glad you found it when you did. :)
So good after a stressful day ??
Yay! So glad.
One word: Yummy
I was home all day with a sick kid and sick husband--this class was the perfect break. Thank you!!
So glad this helped you take care of yourself!
Thank you Elise, this is my favourite class to calm down before bed after a stressful day and even helps so much against migrane attacks by calming the nervous system and streching out the neck and the back in a soft way.
Isn t yoga amazing! So glad you find this class helpful.
Since my shoulder injury I ve become a bit of a fan of yin yoga In fact, despite starting a stressful new job last week, my fitbit tells me my resting heart rate is the lowest it s been since I got it 18 months ago! I ll definitely keep doing yin as long as I need to and then I ll make sure to incorporate it into my week
Ooh, this makes me want to see a study on Yin Yoga and heart rate/stress. Thanks for your feedback!
A great class to help you relax.
great class before bedtime.
Ahhhhhh... Hope you slept well!
Mmmmmmm what a wonderful way to end the day or for stressful times. Will definitely repeat this
So glad you know to turn to yoga in times of stress.
very enjoyable day 9
Way to go on the challenge!
What a great practice! Elise s cueing was clear and instructive. A wonderful stretch and super relaxing. I loved the breath work at the end!
I m so happy you loved it!
Very relaxing.... even dozed off at the end during savasana.... I know technically you are not suppose to but in my book if you doze off you have definitely relaxed your mind and body!
Yep, I take it as a compliment when my massage clients or yoga students fall asleep!
This was a great class. Just what was needed after a day of commuting!
Glad you turned to yoga after your long drive!
I ve never been so grateful for back pain!
I selected this class because I had a specific amount of time and my back was hurting from housework.
I found an excellent instructor!
I did watch the screen when she suggested, and quickly found that her instructions are so clear that I didn t need to look up to see what she was doing. The breathing techniques are scientifically on point with Stephen Porges Polyvagal Theory. That alone was incredibly impressive.
Great class, great pacing, great results!
I m going to download ALL of her other videos!
It makes me so very happy to know I ve benefited strangers around the world with these yogadownload classes. Thanks for letting me know. I haven t heard of the Stephen Porges Polyvagal breath method but I m now inspired to look it up.
Would highly recommend for after a hard day. Excellent breathing cues.
Glad that you benefited from the breath cues!
Way too much talking in this class, especially for Yin Yoga. Quietness is essential in Yin Yoga to offer space to go inward, but not much of that in this class unfortunately. A lot of the talking could have easily been left out as it doesn t adding anything to the class, instead it is distracting and unsettling.
I m sorry you felt this way. For online classes I talk more than I would in a live class in case there are brand new beginners taking the class. If you re more experienced you could turn off the volume and add some relaxing music of your choice instead.
This class was perfect for what I needed tonight. Thank you!
Thanks for your comment.
I did enjoy this and the instruction was very clear. However (my problem) the nature of Yin Yoga means I should have practised in a warmer room and I think I would prefer to do this after activity rather than after a rather sedentary afternoon.
Yes, you have to be more cautious if you re not warmed up first.
This was the first time I ve tried Yin Yoga and was a little surprised at the amount of tension I hadn t realised I was holding in my body. I obviously need to start incorporating more Yin Yoga in to my practice! Although it says that the bolster is optional, I found a few of the poses a little difficult to achieve without one and I wouldn t attempt this class again without a bolster to assist. I do feel nice and relaxed after the class though.
Welcome to Yin Yoga!
Great Class! As I hold all my stress in the front of my hips, added Bridge. TY Elise!
Nice! Did you use a block for supported bridge?
I"m stressed from moving, working out, and starting a new job. This workout was excellent for recovering from sore muscles and stress from over thinking.
I love that it helped you relax.
Very balanced and basic. Loved the choice of stretches. I insert my own sphinx pose... that s the only change I would make! Great poses, and instruction.
The beauty of online yoga classes is that you can indeed pause the video and insert your own poses. Good job!
Did this as a practice on my birthday at the end of the day when I needed to relax. It was just what I needed.
Nice start to your new year!
What a wonderful class - truly deep and truly relaxing. Great teacher too - she guides you along effortlessly.
Aw, thanks for the reflection, Laurie.
This is exactly as described - yin for flexibility and relaxation! After my long day and too much caffeine, this really soothed me. Really enjoyed this one as a counterpoint to my other yoga flows. Love yin!
Yes, it s really beneficial to weave yin into your other practices!
Truest statement in the video - it s hard for the mind to relax and hold these poses. My mind really did want to fight the long holds, but the result was amazing! A great way to relax into your day!
Isn t it a trip to sit back and watch the mind? It s one of the benefits of these slower practices.
Nice class.Very relaxing after a busy day.
So glad you turned toward yoga to decompress!
Loved it. Slow and relaxing. I did this on a day when i just couldn t muster any energy for a flow class. Really opened my neck and upper back where i am always tight as well as hips. Pleasant voice, easy to follow.
Thanks for letting us know, Bobi! Namaste.
I did this two (very sore) days after an intense workout. "Ahhhh!" is right. It was slow-paced and relaxing, but I think I still managed to get a lot of the tension out of my poor muscles. Thank you!
So glad it worked well for you. Thanks for being the first to review!
