Dear YogaDownload students, I would like to thank all of my students, and all of the students of YogaDownload. First for making yoga a part of your lives. As a teacher it is humbling and a great privilege to share yoga with you. We all come to our mats for different reasons, but, each of us steps off that mat a bit changed. A bit more of our true selves. So to you and for you, thank you for making your wellbeing a priority and for sharing your yoga journey with those of us at YogaDownload.

1. What are some other passions and practices that give you purpose and benefit your well-being?

As an Ayurvedic practitioner, I find purpose in working with the stars and nature. There is something magical in feeling connected to the vast beauty of nature, and discovering the marvels within the smallest flower or along the ecliptic of a star.  I believe it is imperative for the wellbeing of the human spirit to lose the ideals of the self, to lose worries, and return to the rhythm of nature. Our wellbeing is interconnected with nature, our rhythms mimic hers, and so, it serves us to connect to the greater whole. I don’t think anyone can argue with the magic we innately feel when stargazing, or the peace and healing nature offers each of us. 

2. How do you think can yoga help our world?

Yoga is an incredible tool, it’s a sacred science that unites us with our truth. The truth that we are beyond this temporal world, beyond concepts, and that we are all intricately connected. It reawakens us to connecting not only within, but with everyone and everything around us. I can’t think of a more profound way to heal our world than for one to heal themselves first.

Meditation is integral to wellbeing, especially today when we are inundated with tech noise, more responsibilities, and more distractions. My personal practice has become slower and more explorative in each posture. However, I need to feel the invigoration of pranic movement.  For that, Jackie’s empowerment series always hits the spot for me. Slow enough to savor, rhythmic enough to steady the mind into the breath, and just enough of a challenge. 

Backbends for Dusting off the Heart with Caitlin Rose Kenney

Another great option I love is Caitlin’s healthy back ends for dusting off the heart.
