Different type of flow that focuses on muscle groups that are often overlooked. I added in a figure four and twist at the end to relieve the tension in those areas.
This claw is mkscategorizes. It is not a beginner class of any type. There are no explanations of the poses that are used and no alignment cues. If you already know how to safely practice these poses then this might be a good class for you. However, if you are new to yoga or self-practice, or unsure about proper alignment, I would not recommend this class for you.

I just love Mark s classes. He s got a wonderful approach to the body and what should be going through your mind as you do your practice. This is a flow with a lot of really good loosening up of the body. He repeats moves a few times before moving on to the next side, but then moves on to something totally different next, waking up new parts of your body throughout. Ready to face my day!

I love this class! It was definitely a good work out and had some good stretches in it as well. I would 100% recommend it.
Mark is my favorite teacher on Yoga Download. His style of flow is very unique, and I love that there isn t any Yoga Download music playing in the background. The playlist Mark made for the class is excellent!

I have been doing this class for a few years now. I have hip problems and this class really supports my work to improve my flexibility and strength. Excellent class.

Wow. This class was challenging first thing in the morning, but I felt great afterwards. Love, love, love the Spotify playlist!

Love this class. My body was tight this morning and this was the perfect strengthening/stretching. It gave my joints some elasticity.

Thank you for teaching us yoga. Namaste

interesting flow, but i agree with what some others have said WAY too much talking for my liking! not sure i ll do it again for this reason.

Just discovered Mark on here. Most of his classes are challenging for me, but i try to challenge myself at least one per week. I just love the flow and grounding of his classes. He sets a great tone. Namaste!

Okay - LOVE this guy! What a wonderful attitude and fantastic class. Got me to wake my whole body and mind up (and I was feeling like a tight mess this morning, let me tell you). I ll be looking for more of his classes.

I was left wanting more explanation and more yoga, after he mentioned he would explain why this is a morning practice. this is a creative flow that gets all parts of abs and lower body, as well as stretching the upper body. I loved it and his originality.

Wonderful flow! Definitely challenging but brought so much peace. Mark is such a poet.

Love Mark s classes, so glad I discovered them on here! This one is no exception. This one is perfect for the morning, builds heat but isn t a cardio workout, like some of the vinyasa classes I have seen. This I can handle, sure you work hard, but it s more of a mental internal work, than getting your heart rate up. Might you sweat? Yes, sure, core work is heat building, but it is also centering and focusing your energy. Absolutely recommend this!

I use to go to Mark class back in San Francisco, and
love it, his class are much more challenging in real and
last 90mm, I just recently move to Reno, try different
class, but did not find a challenging great teacher like
Mark, so I try the yogadownload, like it a lot.
But if you have the opportunity to try his class in real.
Just go for it. He is an amazing teacher.

My husband joined me for this, and as a beginner, he did not think it was "advanced beginner." There was also no savasana, which was a disappointment. He does talk a lot but he is also funny.

Amazing class. I ve done this a couple of times now and notice it really shifts your focus and calms you down. A great way to start the day. I love the commentary throughout a constant reminder not to exert and to let go. Thanks Mark!

I enjoyed the flow part of this because it is a little different from all the other vinyasa style practices. A good and unconventional flow to wake up the body. But, I agree with many of the other reviewers- his communication style killed the flow for me. I don t mind a lot of talk over the flow, but something about his style/personality is just so off putting. I actually stopped the class.

This was an unconventional morning class. There was not much flowing at all. Morford talks a lot, which I don’t like and it felt much more like a core workout class than a yoga class. I kept waiting for him to move into traditional yoga poses instead of just exercises. So I didn’t enjoy it much and the 49 minutes crept along. I’m not sure what state of mind I would need to be in to get the most out of this class, I wanted some more flowing movement and to get into some poses and breathe some spaces open.

Intense morning routine. Definitely can do this with students for an afternoon or evening class. Great waker-upper!

Mark is one of my favorites. I needed this class today. I have been moving to a new home and it is physically and emotionally challenging. I feel really fantastic after this class!

Great class, nice ease-in to the morning.
By Sshines | Sunday, July 2, 2017
This is less of a yoga class and more of a core cardio workout. The constant, short-breathed movements and the instructor s incessant talking left me feeling like I d drank 10 cups of coffee in the class! I was relieved when it was over.

Really interesting and challenging class. Opens up the whole body and definitely not your typical class, but without variation I never get anywhere. I can never bring my heels to the mat with my downward dogs but with all the body opening postures preceding the pose today I could finally just feel the mat with my heels. I really enjoyed the mindfulness of the practice and that appreciation for bringing ease and lightness to life.

Great class- thanks!

I like the poses...but the instructor talks too much. It makes it difficult to meditate into the flow
By Jenna | Tuesday, April 18, 2017
Mark has such a gift for connecting emotion to movement. This class was an excellent, energizing wake up meditation!

I love this guy! First time with one of Mark s classes and I ll search out more. This class definitely builds the heat, but somehow still feels soft.
By ljsmom | Thursday, March 23, 2017
This is not your traditional yoga class. But that makes it a nice refreshing 45 minutes. It was a great way to start my day in many unexpected ways. There are no sun salutations or Savasana. Expect to flow and move and wake your body up. Mark is calm and clear as an instructor.

Beautiful sequence and message to inspire my morning practice and my day! Thank you Mark and YDL.
By Carol K | Saturday, March 18, 2017
GREAT class! Both challenging and relaxing. Mark has a calming voice, and he gives clear directions. I will definitely keep this one. I could have done without all of the references to Ganesha, but of course that is just my personal opinion. Mark and others are certainly free to express what is right for them.

Fantastic morning session. Creative, challenging yet very nurturing. Top of my favourites list now.

Gentle and powerful! ????

I do believe I have never made so many sounds of contentment and wellbeing throughout a yoga practice! This was magnificent! From the beautifully self-nurturing start to the calm and grateful end through real attention to every part of my body - I m fired up AND at peace. What s more the sun has come out and I have just gone outside straight after practice and opened my heart to the sun, sky and snow-covered mountains. Thank you Mark

Did all the things Mark said: calmed my mind, opened my heart, got the kinks out and set me up for a better day. Thank you.

Have tried and enjoyed all of Mark’s classes available on Yogadownload so far, but for me this one is that rare and wondrous gift of a class where the teachers own yogic energy is communicated so directly and with such clarity, that whatever you bring to the mat yourself, it will be touched and transformed into something more meaningful through this practice.

Love, love, love Mark s classes. really like the order he does this in, great cueing, really heat building.
By equigini | Wednesday, March 1, 2017
I enjoyed the uniqueness of his teaching. His vocabulary and invitations to lighten up and soften were timely and well received. Great invigorating practice to access a morning type body.

Love this class, heat, great intention. Rarely need to look at the screen which allows me get inside myself. Thanks Mark!
By Megan Hallinan | Saturday, February 25, 2017
This is a great, challenging class first thing in the morning. I like how you don t do your first downward dog until about 30 minutes in, and there are no chaturangas (my elbow doesn t love that pose). Great instructor that recognizes (with humor) that some poses aren t so fun to hold, but also reminds you to challenge yourself but not punish your body at the same time. Great addition YDL!
By JoC | Friday, February 24, 2017
Wow! I know I have to say more than that because I read reviews to see what others get out of a class... This class was in no way your every day wake up. What was so great is Mark did wake up every inch of my body and mind and yes, spirit. You had to be present, he asks you not to force but to be in and feel in the pose, in the moment. Subtle reminders through out class how to actually bring your yoga off your mat, make this a part of you mot just a work out you come and you are done. Marks style, easy voice and guidance is quickly bringing him to the top of my go to list!

What a great way to start my day. A very unique class that was well thought out and executed. It actually alleviated some back pain I was experiencing this morning. Thanks Mark!
By bobbya | Thursday, February 23, 2017
Couldn t wait to do this class, so I did so in the evening. It was still quite good. I love the way Mark flips the traditional sequence around totally. This one is really focused on walking up the body, especially the hips and hip flexors, it really brought up a lot of intense feelings, as my hips are tight today. This particular flow asks a lot of the knees, so if your knees or sensitive a blanket is a must.
By Jackie Casal | Wednesday, February 22, 2017
I really enjoyed this class. As Mark mentions, it is great for mornings but can be done any time of day. Mark s guidance is so pure and I love his insights and reminders not to crank too hard in each posture. This is a really awesome class. Thanks Mark!
By Chloe | Wednesday, February 22, 2017
Such a great flow! You ll feel it, but in a really warm relaxing way.
By daria | Wednesday, February 22, 2017
Deceptively heat building. Take this class without expectations, it s not a traditional vinyassa flow, but Mark will move your body to stoke some fire. Good for morning! This would be a great class to do after a long flight too.
