To have a student choose to spend their time receiving guidance from me is the greatest gift! All I want to do through teaching is to connect to other people, to show up authentically with vulnerability, and to create space for students to do the same. When teaching, my aim is to guide students through a journey of self-awareness, which will gradually allow them to move through their lives with more openness and receptivity. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to practice with me. :)
In your words, what is yoga?
In my experience, yoga is the *practice* of yoking body and mind into synchronization. In that open space we do what needs to be done to find balance, to create harmony with polarities experienced at any moment.
What inspires your teaching?
My yoga community inspires me! I teach and DJ with so many amazing people in Denver and they are all up to incredible things that leave me in awe. Tibetan Buddhism also inspires me, I love to read the teachings of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
What teachers have impacted you the most?
Annie Carpenter! I will be spending 9 days with her in January and I can't wait to be in her presence. I also love local teachers Gina Caputo, Rod Stryker, Matt Kapinus and Jeremy Wolf.
So you DJ? Tell us more!
Yes, my partner and I both co-teach and co-DJ together. We have a group called Sonic Flow where we teach and DJ regularly on Friday nights and at different yoga/music events/festivals around the country. We also love to DJ house music for different parties and barre classes as well.
