Excellent challenging class.

I ve been coming back to this class for years and years. It is an excellent flow, builds in intensity, very good cueing, and Lisa is an all-around excellent teacher. Please offer more audio only classes! They are perfect for a more-experienced student who doesn t want the distraction of a screen. Plus, the teachers tend to have less chit-chat and a more focused instruction style in the audio classes.

I hadn t done any of Lisa s classes, so this 60 minute solar flow was my first. I thought even with just the chart, it was very well cued and easy to follow. I enjoyed the mix of the many poses and especially having the arm balances. I would definitely add this to my list of go to classes.

Great flow. She just keeps coming at you with arm balances and inversions. I love this class. Great workout. I do the 60 min one in a hot room. Also throw in some hand stands during the sun salutations as well. I also love those audio only classes. They are the best ones!

Excellent class. Though it started slow it developed and progressed into a very challenging class. Great cueing and great choices to deepen the pose. Overall great class, I feel well stretched and worked out. I will definitely do this again!

This was a really great class. It was challenging but not impossible - It had all the elements of a classic yoga class, including backbends and inversions, and the instructor was clear and easy to follow, even without the pose guide if you are experienced. I loved it and will definitely do it again and seek out more classes with Lisa Richards.

Definitely a good flow, so good I would rank it among the best that I ve tried of the 15 or so that I ve downloaded. I would recommend having some substantial familiarity with poses and routine flows, as she tends to use the more formal names. It includes a challenging standing sequence. Broke a sweat. My only complaint is the vague, understated music, but that s a totally personal thing as I like to set a soundtrack. Will definitely do this over and over.

Great wrap up to a day. Challenging yet soothing. I learned a new pose that will take some to work into. I will do this again.

perfect for energizing and centering

Amazing class: both challenging and deeply relaxing. A slowly intensifying sun A and B flow, followed by backbends and an inversion, a nice twist, and savasana. Loved every single minute of this class. I will do this one again, for sure.

This definitely ranks as one of my favorite classes. it s also one of the few where I couldn t hold a pretty simple pose for the entire time I was supposed to. It s tough, but I ll keep coming back for the challenge. Love it!

After completing this flow, I stood up and literally felt like a cloud!

I ve purchased about half a dozen classes and this one is definitely my favorite. I went for the 60-minute version, as I tend to prefer to do a longer, full session when I sit down for my yoga practice and want something that is going to challenge my body and mind. This one is a great mix of strength, flexibility, and balance asanas throughout the practice and Lisa s instructions are so clear that even on the first run-through I barely had to look a the pose guide. A great class for more experienced students, or intermediate students who want to deepen their practice, as the majority of the poses are ones that you can continue to work on and improve over time.

Lisa is, in my opinion, the most reliably excellent YDL yoga teacher and this is one of her BEST classes. It s challenging but not intimidating, perfectly cued and well-rounded. The music is excellent. I did the 30-minute audio version. I highly recommend this!

Really enjoyed the 60 minute class. Lisa s cues are very concise, and her flow inventive and enjoyable. Definitely upper-body intensive!

Out of the dozen-plus Yoga Download classes I ve purchased (10 hour-length, a handful of 20-minute), including four from Lisa, the solar flow is easily my favorite. Maybe that s because I m one of those guys who s stereotypically vain about upper body strength, and this has a lot of arm balances in it. Not that I have huge arms or shoulders; far from it. I really like the control required and the sense of functionality involved in yoga arm balances, and it s like Lisa s talking right to me when she says, "If you d like to fly..." There s something uniquely cool (if not yet, at my current level of capability, exhilarating) about elevating all of your body except your hands from the ground. (This class also introduced me to what s probably my favorite asana, hurdle pose.)
There s also some challenging twisting, and of course a lot of hip opening. I do this class every couple of weeks or so, and I ve found that it s a good way to get at least a vague sense of my overall fitness.

I found the 20 min class to be more relaxing than vigorous, which is nice on days when I m feeling overwhelmed. It s not meditative or slow, but there aren t as many challenging poses that make your brain scream.

Agree to all the above. My favorite. It is challenging and physical enough to go for a work-out, and it must be excellent for balance! At least I feel I am improving almost every time I take this class. That also makes me not grow bored of it. Good and inspiring instructions. Any of you who like this one who can recommend other classes in this category?

Lisa begins class with a great guided relaxation and leads into an intentional practice. Setting a practice up this way is #1 in my book. I loved what she said about the breath guiding the flow, and to never let the breath be compromised by any posture. Being a “solar flow” Lisa used the themes of sun and warmth and sun salutations through the class.

This is my favorite of the classes I ve downloaded, mainly because I know I can rely on it to warm me up quickly when I m feeling cold or stiff. That same heating quality is very helpful as a warmup for the arm balances. Lisa s instructions and transitions are easy to follow, and the sivasana is lovely. I always sleep well, after doing this session!

Great class. I too like that there is no specific ab work but I felt like I worked my abs the entire time. Good variety of warrior poses, twisting, balancing...

Great class! Lots of variations - (poses) that are as challanging as you want - even with all the arm balances - Lisa rocks! I love her smooth voice, non-judgmental "attitude", and her encouragment thru-out the entire practice! I also like that there is not really any "abdominal section" in this class - but you do work your ab`s thru-out the whole practice. I also like that the class is mostly standing poses! this is a really well-balanced yoga class!! Great job Lisa! Keep it up!! More classes!!!!

This is my new favorite class. It`s high-intensity, has a very nice flow and smooth transitions, is balanced, and has a great selection of optional advanced postures, and clear instructions.
Lisa has a very soothing voice as well. Kudos to yogadownload for providing some more advanced classes, using challenging postures and not just advanced in physical intensity. As a teacher, it`s difficult for me to find challenging classes for myself at home. I can see myself reaching for this one often. It`s a lot of fun.
I highly recommend this for experienced students. Please, more advanced classes -- how about some level 5 selections, too?

This is my favorite 20 minute class. I do yoga early in the morning and this class wakes me up and makes me feel great. Wonderful class if you want to feel energized!
