I like that this class is broken up into targeted segments. 25 minutes is a great class length for me, so I did the upper body portion, and it was a fun challenge! Parts of it were basic weight training while brief portions had a cardio element. The lower body was engaged in squats and warrior positions most of the time, so it really was a full-body workout in a very compact period of time!

I like the incorporation of weights and how different this is than most classes. I did feel the cueing was insufficient. I practice without my glasses in the morning to get the sunlight in my eyes and there were several times I had no idea what she was doing by just listening. That being said, I will take this class again.

Nice and short but effective to build strength. I like how the classes are in section, so I can do one everyday to focus on a certain muscle group and its short enough it will be easy to incorporate.

Loved this class as it will help me get back in shape. She does a great pace of the poses, and her explanations of every pose is clear with modifications. Will definitely take this again. Would like a condensed version of this class around 45 minutes but otherwise one of my favorite classes so far.

Great classwhenyoudont want the intensity of a Becca class, but want more than a power flow. Very straightforward and basic moves that are repeated.

Great workout yoga based. I did the whole class and had no problems with the transition. Good flow and good cueing and instruction. Will definitely do this again!

I loved this class because it is fast moving and although I did the entire class only a couple of times, I love doing 2 modules... It is dynamic, beautiful, and most importantly the RESULTS show up after the third time - people around me noticed the difference and commented.
I agree with the person that mentioned there are no good transitions between sections, but that is easy to overcome and for me personally those "extra" warmups were good places to catch a breath.
Overall, although not perfect from some pedagogical approaches, it is my favorite class and I am so happy to have discovered it.

I ve taken a ton of yoga classes with some of the best teachers out there, and Danielle is at the top of the list. She makes yoga approachable, rigorous, fun and healing. I especially love her down to earth style and her coaching along the way... kept me feeling encouraged and supported throughout the workout. I wish there were more than 5 stars to give! Her Xen Strength class is a must-do!

I thought I would never find a practice that is strong, thoughtful AND safe. I gave up hope—and then happened on Xen Strength.
I really appreciate the creative and challenging sequencing, and especially Diamond s attention to detail. Often in powerful yoga classes alignment and a deeper understanding of the postures take a back seat to the teacher s ego. Not this DVD. Danielle is so helpful I feel like it s a private lesson. I can t tell you how many times she "caught" my slacking. Every time I finish Xen Strength I feel more powerful and open.
I am soooo happy I took another chance to find my ideal yoga tri-fecta. Hooray for Xen Strength!

This is a good workout, especially for a home workout. Not as intense as a real yoga class though, even with the weights.
The class is divided into 3 sections and if you do all three at a time, they transitions between them are terrible/non-existent. Terrible as in one moment you are in child s pose and the next the instructor is standing at the top of the mat without having told you to go there. Also, because of the 3 modules in 1 format, you do 3 warmups - one in the beginning, one at 20 something minutes and the last one at 40 something minutes.
Finally, she talks so much in between poses, there is a lot of dead time. I usually ass 2-4 reps at the end of every exercise since I know I will have time to catch up while she talks.

I have done the whole practice a couple of times now. If you want to intensify your practice and really work those muscles, this is the way to do it!
Love the video, love Danielle, and love how I feel when it s all finished.
Thank you! :)
