I loved this slow flow class towards padmasana. Its such a deep pose and needs to be taught carefully. I really appreciated this class, its clear instruction and alignment as well as the deoths of wisdom streaming through.

Beautiful, patient hip opening toward or into lotus. I m 50 and it has been over 20 years since my hips/ knees have eased into lotus. A gift!

I don t know what I was holding in but during the entire class I was amazed at how good every pose felt even though I started the class very sore from another workout 2 days prior. At the end of the class I cried my eyes out. I released and healed something and felt so good all night. Thanks Lakshmi and Jeanie.

If you re interested in work toward or into Lotus Pose as a peak pose where the sequence is slow but focuses on the breath, then it s a good class. I enjoyed the brief explanation of Lakshmi and how the class was built around her story. In addition, the attention to breath is valuable to build into any practice, and the some of the variations for poses were new to me, which is refreshing.
While the cueing for the breath was great, the cueing for the poses was not as strong. This is probably because YogaDownload has spoiled us with instructors who are excellent at this, so when an instructor is only good it stands out. There were many times that I had to watch the video to understand the pose, more than I typically anticipate.
Lastly, I do recommend that anyone watching this do some kind of warm-up before starting the video, either a run or some sun salutations. The class opens with a runners lunge, which I wasn t comfortable with first thing in the morning. That said, the class was well-paced after that point, and Jeanie succeeding in getting me into Lotus, which I can t even remember trying since grade school which was 20+ years ago.

I think the "intermediate" rating comes from the breath work this class requires. I really loved this class and felt is was both challenging and refreshing. I like connecting the poses to the Hindu goddesses and gods; it makes me feel a greater connection and context for the movements beyond just the physical practice. Thank you!

Definitely not an advanced intermediate practice. If you re looking to stretch and feel good, this is a great class. Loved the Lakshmi imagery and connection. Better for intermediate or flexible beginners.

I really enjoyed this class and the story that went with it. Unfortunately after a few knee surgeries lotus is not an option for me, but maybe after a few years of doing this practice I ll get there once again. Very nice and clear instruction too.

This was an awesome class for opening up the hips and working into lotus pose. I feel this one of the best classes that I have done for getting into this pose. I did have a hard time following some of the cuing in the beginning of class as she uses the original names of poses and that would be the direction for getting into the pose. I just had to watch the video a bit more when going into the poses at the beginning to mid of class. Her voice is very soothing and encouraging. I marked this as a favorite as I will do again as I do spin class and run, so this is a great class for folks who do those activities! Great class!
