Meet our October Yogi of the Month, N'Digo Kali! N'Digo is a self professed DVD Yogini, and says that practicing Extended Side Angle replaces her coffee buzz!

What is your hometown and where do you live now?
I was raised in Colorado Springs, CO but currently reside in Nashville, TN.

What do you love about yoga?
I appreciate how yoga is one of the few activities that I participate in that really keeps my mind focused and calm. I, like many modern people, often suffer from the dreaded "monkey mind", and am constantly thinking of what I 'could of, would of, should of' done, and having a plan A, B, and C in place for everything. With yoga, I rest in the comfort of I AM. I feel strong, clear-minded, and more connected to the moment and life itself while flowing from one asana to another.

How long have you been practicing?
I have been practicing yoga for a little over 3 years.

What are your favorite/preferred styles of yoga to practice?
Vinyasa Flow yoga is my favorite style of yoga; I enjoy the fluidity of the practice (like riding on the waves of energy!). I also like the combination of the flow practice coupled with spiritual attunement that Jivamukti yoga offers me as well.

Share a little bit about why you love YogaDownload.com
I am a self-professed DVD yogini, but since I have been doing a lot of traveling lately, practicing yoga in front of a television or in a class are not always an option. YogaDownload.com offers me the freedom to practice varying styles of yoga anytime, anywhere with my MP3 player by my side.

What is your favorite yoga pose?
Though it is not the most complicated or "cool" looking pose, my body loves Utthita Parsvakonasana (Extended Side Angle Pose). I can literally feel all my joints loosening themselves and a surge of energy move up through my feet and out of my extended arm! I have no need for coffee with this pose!

What is your least favorite yoga pose?
I have a love/hate relationship with Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog). Sometimes I am eager to rest in it, and other times it has me begging for Childs Pose!

Do you have any favorite music to practice to?
I like global/tribal/world groove music; similar to what can be found on a Putamayo CD

Any unusual places you've unrolled your mat?
I have not practiced yoga anywhere out of the ordinary besides indoors or in a park, but I am looking forward to unrolling it on a beach someday!
