That was a beautiful practice. I feel so open and aware of sensation in parts of my body I seldom think of. Thanks Jeanie!

Very nice , lots of hip and shoulder opening . Good instruction and pace . Pictures are helpful to confirm you are in correct position

Solid class. Perhaps more Advanced Beginner than Intermediate, but very good instruction. Not sure why some people complained about too much talking... Obviously they have not taken classes from some of the major chatter boxes in YogaDownload!

This was a great hip opener with may pigeon poses. however there was no flow if that is what you want

Absolutely great for anyone who wants to get a real pigeon going. Many classes don t show you how to do a true pigeon. Nice flow. Well done.

I greatly enjoyed this class -- one-legged pigeon is something I definitely wanted practice with! It guided me easily into it. However, I was very distracted by how the models moved into the next pose or modification before the verbal instruction was given. It made me pause and wonder if I was missing something or doing something wrong. My yoga teachers always warned against thinking ahead and moving into the pose before the cue is given, and I never realized how distracting it was until I saw it happen. =( Overall a great practice though!

I know it is an intermediate class but way too much talking. I expected more calming, soothing instructions.

I downloaded the 30 min class and this is perfect as this is the pose I wanted to start to master,,

I love all of Jeannie s classes. In response to other comments, I can understand how if you re not practiced in the Anusara tradition the language may be unfamiliar...But it is classically Anusara themed and based on the alignment cues, and the class is labeled under its appropriate discipline. Takes some getting used to but once it sinks beyond the mind and into the body its a beautiful practice. I enjoyed, Thank you

(30 mins) Very energizing! I only wish there was more time with the actual goal pose before savasana.

I felt like it was a lot of talking. I did appreciate the creativeness in her cues, I couldn t necessarily follow along with what she was saying & couldn t relax into the pose because of the talking

At first I wasn t sure if I was going to enjoy this video. Within several minutes I was into it and felt like it picked up.

I have to agree with other reviewers that this class is hard to focus on because of the instructor s talking. Her instructions are not very clear ("arm bones" is not a specific body part!) and my thoughts kept wandering. I would like more classes focused on king pigeon pose though!

Thanks for making king pigeon seem so much more accessible!

I did the free 20 min version of this class and based on that I would not purchase this class. The class began with several minutes of talking, and this continued through the class. As other reviews have said, I found the amount of talk to be distracting - it was hard to separate the movement cues from the other talk. When there were cues, they were hard to follow and often required pretty high levels of previous yoga knowledge, "take a vinyasa" or "move to chataranga" without any other cues to let you know what that meant.
I would like to work more on pigeon pose, but this will not be a class I would attempt again.

I did the 30 minutes class many times over the last year and liked it in general. Since I have built up my regular practice to a full hour I recently downloaded the full 80 minute video version and it is now in my favorites folder. I enjoy pigeon pose and I appreciated the multiple ways I was taken into it, each time a little deeper. One day I will be able to do the full mermaid pose without falling over! The meditative reminders helped me stay connected to my practice. The movements into each pose also kept me mindful of my body and breath.

Unfortunately, I have tried this class twice and have not been able to practice it. My main problem is the audio quality. The voice track is too low and when I turned the volume up to hear better, the music came in too loud and overwhelmed the voice again. I ve tried it on different speakers and have no volume problems with about 18 different YDL classes. It looked like a good class based on the preview, however it s staying on the shelf for me.

This was a pretty good class but I was going off of the audio version and, like other reviewers, was confused by some of the cues. It seemed like some of the cues were more instructive on the opposite leg, after we had done the first side. I was worried about injury.
However, I did get a good stretch in my lower back and loosened up my hips.
Overall, this class, to me, is ok, alas 3 stars. I would do it again but I would probably check out the video version instead.

I love this session! I find it clear and easy to follow, and its great for my hips, lower back and shoulders. But I only do the full 80 min. video version. Shorter versions might skip good parts and cues.

I completed both the verbal and video 30 minute version of this class. I feel much more open in the hips. Jeanie s class is full of verbal cues to get the alignment correct. The only downside is that I didn t have more time to do a longer class! Thanks YDL and Jeanie!

I have been devoted to yoga for 7 years. I thrive on my weekend practices knowing I can devote even more time. This class was very disappointing. Even after years of practice it had me confused and worried about injury. I tried to get through it for a second time today but again felt I was doing more harm than good. If you are a beginner do not try. If you are advanced be ready to be fully alert and able to work your own way through many of the cues.

Lots of talking, for sure, and I missed some cues. I really liked the poses and felt great afterward, but then looked at the pose guide and realized I d missed a bunch of stuff! Ha! Will try it again.

This is not the usual sort of class I that I enjoy (I tend to enjoy faster paced classes), but it provides a stretch and release in all the right places. I lift weights a lot. While yoga classes help a lot with the tightness in my hamstrings, hips, and calves; they often neglect/focus less on the quads and shoulders. After this class I feel relaxed, open, and peaceful. I have both the 30 min and 60 min versions, and I enjoy them both. I have to admit that I do yoga primarily for the physical benefits and stress relief, and the instructor does talk about some new age-y stuff. This isn t uncommon in yoga, so I just zone out and focus on my breath when I don t want to listen. I recommend you do the same if you re like me, but stick with it for the other benefits of this class!

I really enjoyed the intensity of the postures in this class and a change from power vinyasa classes; however, I found the breathing in the 60 min class to be a little bit unnatural. A lot of times you are instructed to inhale to release from poses which is the opposite of what I ve become accustomed to doing so I often felt a little thrown off. There is a lot of talking but I was able to tune out when I needed to. I feel great afterwards - awesome hip opener!!

After trying some of the free 20min classes, this was my first purchase. I was really disappointed with the 45min class as the teacher talked way too much during the session. I found my thoughts wandering so much so that when she did give an instruction, I missed it entirely. I felt I was unable to enjoy my practice, but hope for better luck next time round.

Jeanie is one of my favorite teachers and this is an awesome class from start to finish. It will prepare you for an amazing opening in both your hips and heart.
