Lovely lesson, lots of info aboit the poses and corrections. Just a little bit to much talking for my taste.

I love Rogers classes for my Sunday morning rest days. Amazing time to slow it down, being reminded of proper alignment, and getting an amazing inspirational message. Thank you Roger.

Great attention to detail.

Low rotation. Somewhat a little south of advanced beginner, and medical contraindications as well. I have been a beginner for years longer than some others have been practicing. Only shameable thing about that, is the number of years I have been away from asana practice. Please note, this class could EASILY be labeled intermediate. Only its length makes it a "teaser" for actual, hardcore intermediates.

Excellent class (I did the 30 minute) to build a foundation. It teaches the arm balances in great detail so i found crow pose much more challenging but also felt more grounded and felt like explored the challenging nature of each pose much more fully.

Some have commented there s too much talking, but I think Roger s narrative provides not only important form and safety instructions, but also valuable thoughts about cultivating the ability to respond more mindfully in life. Handstands not doable for me but I easily substituted something else during that time. Great class, thank you.

Loved this flow. His details are fantastic. I was able to get into crow much easier than the past. I d love to see more of him on here.

Really enjoyed the 30 minute class. I actually was able to reach my foot in pigeon twist for the first time ever, and my crow felt much more controlled. Thanks!

Really good practice! It s quite talky, which I enjoy, because the instruction is sound.

Great Anusara class!

Absolutely wonderful class. I thoroughly enjoyed the specific foundational instruction. It took my practice to a deeper place! Namaste!

good clear concise instruction - maybe a bit to detailed for inner inspection - hip openers were in a way that was easier to do and gave me much better results - definitely will revisit this class

I appreciate that Roger is knowledgeable about his practice, and the asanas themselves are fine, but I do find his constant instruction a burden, as it is a bit repetitive and not necessarily conducive to me "going in" and reflecting about whatever point he is making. I think if he cut his talking by half it would be helpful.

i don t know that i ve had a ydl class yet that i haven t enjoyed at least to some extent, but since this is the first time i have felt compelled to write a review, that speaks volumes to me. in the 20 min flow (long day - it was all i could "fit in!"), roger managed to guide me to go into forward bend and down dog further than i ever have in any other practice... and i am ridiculously tight right now, so this just FLOORED me! i am very much looking forward to the other flows (30, 45 and 60 min) very very soon!

great quick body re-set!

I usually love Roger s classes, but this one didn t really work for me. Great technical pointers as usual, but the constant talking was distracting, and the class wasn t challenging.

Great class with awesome instruction!

I was surprised to find myself in some unusual poses for me. He takes the time to set up the alignment of the body and offer a variety of positions that it gave me the awareness to challenge myself while still being very mindful. I would have appreciated more of a warmup in the beginning, but I only did the 30 minute class so perhaps the longer class spends more time warming up.

Excellent detailed instruction and descriptions along the way, which I really appreciated. The pace was just right, and I was definitely challenged. Great class.

Way to much talking, I couldn t get past the first downward dog!

Oh man, I just finished the 20-minute version and I feel amazing. I don t think I ve done Anusara before but I certainly enjoyed the focus on foundation and energy, before I knew it I was relaxed and felt good all over!

I m very impressed with Roger s classes and this is one of my favorite. I usually do the shorter versions before going to bed and it really leaves me feeling great and relaxed. This class gets me much deeper into the poses than I normally do and Roger puts your mind in the right place. He talks a lot but what he says all makes sense and really helps your practice. Great class if you want something more meditative, deep relaxing stretches but still some challenging arm poses, like a hand stand.

This class challenged, stretched and pushed me...it burned my muscles and kicked my butt! And it was only the 20 minute version LOL. I typically prefer more relaxing hatha style classes but this adds a wonderful balance in my practice and I can t wait to do it again!

Amazing! This is such a great class I almost save it for those days that I know will be especially hard. Thanks to yoga download I get to pick my practice every morning and this class truly helps you physically and mentally connect to yourself and the world around you. I recommend it to all yogi friends and even a few non-yogis. The words alone are so inspiring!

Wow - just WOW! Absolutely loved this class (60 minutes) and feel amazing after completing it. I seem to have worked harder and stretched more than any other class I ve done. I am not sure what the other people complained about as I for one found the cues and instructions excellent and very helpful. I have done poses in this class which felt completely different and superior to when I have done them before - like his descriptions really helped me to get into the pose correctly. Particularly the reminders to offer the heart which I had never properly done before (or I didn t understand before). I will definitely be downloading more of his classes. Thanks a lot!

He s a great teacher.
I want to buy this download, could you tell me if I can see it on a macbook?

Loved listening to his reminders to focus on the different body areas, to open up. Some new poses for me, and great instruction as to how to get into them and what to feel for!

I liked this session, but am surprised that it s rated Advanced Beginner. Some of the poses require a lot of shoulder and arm strength. I m fairly strong and reasonably experienced, but found some of the poses almost too intense, especially for the Adv.Beg. rating. (I realise that it s also rated "You ll Feel It"! ;-)
I agree that he talked a lot, but I didn t mind it too much. The alignment tips were really helpful.
I d do this session again myself, but not with my mixed-ability/age podcast class.

"He doth talketh too much, me thinks"... Of course it is a great workout and experience overall, but I don t find myself playing it much because IMHO (sorry, Mr. Pressman, nothing personal).. over enthusiastic talking is a killer for the spirit I want to court in my living room practice. Maybe he could do some other class offerings a bit differently for YDL. It IS nice to have a well-meaning male teacher whose heart is in the right place.

He mentioned a couple of things that refined the poses for me and protected my knees. I thought the class was going to be too much from the preview, but it wasn t. Challenging yet inspiring. And I was kinda into the new age chatter.
By angington | Wednesday, May 23, 2012
I really enjoyed this style of yoga and the instructor. I ve done both the audio and video version. I agree with other posters that the audio version is too chatty. The video version is much better. My favorite part of the video version is how he guides you into crow. It s the first time crow felt inevitable to me instead of a leap a faith ending in a crash.

I have tried to finish this class several times, but the talking is just too much for me. It s not just the act of talking, but the content of it....this class would be fine if you are into the more new age aspects of yoga, but it s just not for me.
By Tammie | Monday, February 20, 2012
Yea, he s a little chatty--but it s all in good spirit. I did the 30 minute class before bed and it was just what I needed.

WOWOOWOW so so good!!!
I have been doing yoga for 5 years and I would say this is one of most inspiring classes yet.
He offered some subtle comments on body alignment in common poses I have been doing for years that took me much deeper than I have experienced before.
Usually I dislike when teachers talk about things through a yoga class but I found his words deeply inspiring taking me deeper and deeper into this practice.
More Anusara from this man please!!

This was a lot of fun! The pace is nice and slow but the poses are really challenging and interesting. It was quite different. The explanations are clear and I really liked the theme of the class. I loved it.

This is an excellent, challenging class, no matter your level. Roger does talk a lot, but the things that he says help you go deeper within. Never has an hour passed so quickly.
It does seem to be a foundation class, perfect for anyone new to Anusara yoga. I d love to see a class that builds on the concepts introduced here.

Oh, this is a great class! I love that even in 30 minutes Roger can provide the unique benefits of Anusara yoga. It leaves you feeling strong, balanced, and relaxed in mind and body. He focuses on using yoga asanas to respond mindfully to the world around you. I look forward to the full hour class so I can get the full experience. Please offer more classes like this!

I enjoyed the 60 minute podcast- it was a nice change to the typical yet useful "roll through Sun Salutations with a little bit of diversity at the end". Plus, how many dudes does YDL have leading their podcasts? He talks a little fast, but you get used to it and he definitely makes time for the appropriate pauses. Also, I like how he reminds you to concentrate on your foundation and heart. Great new addition!
