Calling all lovers of Ashtanga flow and breath! This class flows from pose to pose like pearls on a necklace. This is a super meditative class with little instruction, mostly Surya Namaskar, challenging asana holds of 5 breaths, and standing poses that flow like a wave - breath by breath. We end with some seated postures, twists, foreword folds and meditation. If you want to build strength, stamina and heat, this class is for you. This sequence will warm you up for just about anything.

nice
This class was the perfect combination of warming sun salutations, challenging standing poses to build balance and strength, and deep stretching. I appreciated the teaching at the beginning and pranayama at the end. It truly has everything I look for in a yoga class. I m sure I will return to it often!
The theme was interesting, albeit a bit disjointed from the practice itself. As mentioned, move ahead to the 5 minute mark if you want to get to asana right away. Generally, a solid short form Ashtanga practice.

Thanks for your comments. The Theme is about releasing into the breath thats who Chinnamasta is, hence the breathing is our focus in combo with the movement which puts us in a headless state. This ini relationship to this goddess, Chinnamasta who is headless where our practice takes us, out of mind into pulsation.
Very good long hold poses of the ashtanga series. Not really a flow of movement, though i did have nice flow of breath throughout. the theme is nice and i did lose brain to the flow. Very good hamstring and hip opening, my low back feels better. Built heat but no sweat for me.
Really enjoyed this, I love the connection to the philosophy and its a great way to keep up Ashtanga practice without the normal time requirements.
If you appreciate ashtanga, this is a great quick series. If you are looking for more of a physical, asana heavy practice (while I do appreciate the philosophy but I get it can depend on your mood) start 6 minutes in at which point she queues her "no nonsense flow." I didn t find it rigorous or challenging, just a great feel good let go and build some heat through discipline flow.
