Christine Miyachi

Christine Miyachi is a 200 hour Certified Forrest Yoga instructor and all around fitness guru, and she has the extensive resume to prove it.

Christine’s teaching career first began in 1987 when she became a Certified Group Exercise Instructor (AFAA, ACE) and began teaching a wide variety of fitness and flexibility classes including: step classes, spin classes, low and hi-lo impact aerobics, walking classes, and power yoga classes. Since then she has taken a variety of continuing education classes including: choreography, walking, nutrition, kinesiology and resistance exercise, to name a few. In addition to teaching group fitness classes, Christine is Certified Personal Trainer (FRA, Inc.) and has trained personal clients since 2000 for weight loss, injury prevention and recuperation. She is also a lifelong athlete who snowboards, skis, bikes, hikes and plays on a womans lacrosse team.

Christine has been a yoga practitioner and enthusiast for over 25 years and has studied many different styles including: Kundalini, Iyengar, Power/Vinyasa Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga. It was one style in particular however that captured her heart more than any other: a style of yoga called Forrest Yoga. “When I first discovered Forrest Yoga, it hit me like a bolt of lightening and I became committed to someday learning how to teach this style.” Forrest Yoga is named after its founder, Ana Forrest, and is a style based on breath, strength, integrity, and spirit – all ideals that Christine embodies in her everyday life. It was in the spring of 2006 that Christine completed a 200 hour live intensive training course with Ana Forrest in Boston, MA and fulfilled her dream to become a Forrest Yoga Instructor.

Christine is a mother of three, and works as a software architect in addition to teaching yoga and apprenticing with Ana Forrest at ‘Back Bay Yoga’ in Boston, MA. Her many years experience as a fitness trainer and eclectic background allow her to bring unique level of expertise to her classes. She is dedicated to spreading the benefits of Forrest Yoga and enriching the lives of her students through the power of yoga.
