At times in our lives, we feel we are facing a mountain. A mountain is something that seemingly cannot be moved or overcome. It is a sense of overwhelm that can be paralyzing. Yet, mountains can be moved, one pebble at a time.
Through our asana practice we can embody this concept, and that enables us to understand it on a deeper level in our daily lives. A yoga class is approached one pose at a time, one cue at a time... or, one pebble at a time. Kristen will guide you, one pose - one cue at a time, into a deeper hip opening, culminating with the peak pose Parivritta Janu Sirsasana (revolved head-to-knee pose).
This meditative practice starts slowly on the floor with hip openers and moves into easy standing poses. This practice is good for days when you feel overwhelmed. Perhaps in the morning when you know your schedule is massive and there is not much "down time" scheduled into your day. Or, at the end of a day of travel, busy appointments, or to help manage everyday stress. This class is meant to give you rest and restore your strength. Enjoy!

This class works toward compass pose (vishvamitrasana), a rather advanced posture that asks a lot of our side bodies, hamstrings, and shoulders. Recognizing that your enlightenment is not hinging on your ability to get into ANY pose and that it's more about focusing on the journey, this fun flow with plentiful options will open and warm you sufficiently to at least give it a try! The only prerequisite is your engaged sense of humor and adventure, and as always, your ability to breathe!
This fast-paced vinyasa sequence connects movement with breath while incorporating a variety of Crow postures (Bakasana) throughout the flow. You will also be introduced to Side Crow and Single-Legged Crow prep. This is an aerobic style of yoga, so be prepared to sweat, and meditate through movement!

In this class, we begin by taking the major and minor joints through their rotations, leading into a bit of core work to heat the body, then on to the much deeper work. Through spinal undulations, deep pigeons and lunges, we eventually get to bridges and splits both done on the ground as well as using the wall and a partner to assit in going deeper.

This is a challenging class that will work your lower half, specifically your glutes, while also getting your heart rate up. You will lunge, pulse and sweat your way to a firmer back side. While there are traditional yoga poses in the class, there are a few barre and bootcamp inspired moves as well. You can expect to do some repetitive movements to really get into all of the muscles that make up the glutes, but we will also do a little flowing to stretch things out in the middle of class. Because this class is designed to get results quickly, we won't spend a lot of time on alignment, we'll just get into the poses and burn those buns!
