The YogaDownload "Yoga For Peace" Program
Karma:kar·ma
(kär
'mə) - The word karma itself means "action," but it implies both action and reaction. All actions have consequences, be they immediate or years down the road. The effects of our actions shape how we look upon the past, act in the present and experience the future. We are all each accountable for the joy and pain experienced in the world.
Karma is not fate, but rather the opposite. We have the ability to alter the path of life for ourselves and others by changing our feelings and prejudices and engaging in positive practices. It is on the idea of karma that Yoga For Peace was born.
"Yoga for Peace" - FREE Yoga Classes for our Troops and Friends in the Peace Corps!
Yoga Download established the Yoga For Peace program to show support for American troops overseas and current members of the Peace Corps. In the true spirit of yoga, the entire Yoga Download catalogue is available FREE to active duty servicemen and women as our way of thanking those who have offered themselves to a greater mission. Our portable audio yoga classes with music accompaniment are the perfect format for those needing a little comfort while living far from home. Many studies have shown the healing benefits of yoga, from physical therapy to helping treat
Post Tramatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Our goal is to offer a little yoga relief for those who need it most.
If you or anyone you know is serving in the armed forces or Peace Corps and would like access to free yoga classes, please send an email to

Member Testimonials
"I spent a lot of time in my service practicing at home during my free time. I would use many of the classes to sustain my self-practice, and I was inspired by sequences in these online classes that I would also incorporate when I taught yoga in different communities in St. Vincent. In the rural communities, many people were brand new to yoga - had never experienced it firsthand and had very inaccurate perceptions of the practice. I used the Yoga for Beginners classes to guide my teaching when working with those brand new to yoga in order to present the practice in an accessible and non-threatening way." ~ Camille Aragon – volunteering in St. Vincent in the Eastern Caribbean

"Thank you YogaDownload! I am so grateful to have the opportunity to take yoga classes during my Peace Corps service. By continuing my practice, I've been able to stay strong physically, mentally, and spiritually even through the toughest times here. YogaDownload has provided me with an opportunity to continue to grow through my practice while serving in a place yoga is rarely offered." ~ Katie San Filippo – volunteering in St. Vincent

""Yogadownload.com: take yoga anywhere."
This tagline is played at the start of every audio podcast, and no truer words could be said about YDL. I should know, because I really have taken these podcasts everywhere.
I have just returned to the United States after spending three years stationed in Dakar, Senegal. I'm an officer in the U.S. Navy, and while my job has me serving in all kinds of cool and unusual places, sometimes I find that the stress of my job (or mere logistics) are a limiting factor in maintaining my mental and physical balance. That's why I really love to turn to my YDL podcasts. I have used them while deployed on a ship in the South China Sea (yes, Warrior III in high seas is really tough!) and have brought my podcasts to a dozen countries on the African continent. There's nothing better than knowing that a bit of spiritual and physical well-being was no closer than my computer or MP3 player- no matter where I happened to be serving. Thank you for supporting our military- we need all of the shanti that we can get!" ~ Megan Hallinan – Military

"I am currently serving in Juba, South Sudan for the Mennonite Central Committee. Taking time from my day to practice the various yoga programs really helps keep my stress level down and helps me deal with the daily violence one is witness to, living here. I do my job better and feel like a better person when I can take the time to stretch and get centered and breath. As a volunteer, getting the yoga for free is certainly a plus! I have a much larger variety of classes than I'd be able to afford otherwise. Thanks so much! I love yoga for peace!" ~ Kelly Fisher Hale - Juba, South Sudan

"I am serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador, South America. After learning about yogadownload.com from a fellow volunteer, I applied for my own Yoga for Peace membership. Life as a volunteer can be stressful at times and there are many sacrifices I make with regard to my own health by serving here. I'm thankful to yogadownload that my yoga practice doesn't have to be one of those sacrifices! I greatly appreciate that, depending on my physical or emotional need that day, I can download just the video I need to reconnect, ground and find inner peace. Being able to access beginner videos also helps me to share the gift of yoga with my fellow Ecuadorian community members in the weekly class I've begun teaching." ~ Jane Pezua – Ecuador
