Welcome to Day 10 of the 14-Day Yoga Challenge for Busy People!

Today we have classes from both Desiree and Patrick, that really focus on the details of the postures. Part of being a healthy yogi is not only practicing, but also learning more about the practice along your yoga path. Both of these expert teachers will give you tips and techniques, that you can utilize in your yoga practice for a long time to come. With each and every breath, you are taking better and better care of yourself. Congratulations on making time for yourself, and keep up the amazing work!

Today's message from Elise: The second step to transformational change is to Let Go. Easier said than done, right? Realizing what is keeping you stuck and letting that go, you are then poised to move full-speed ahead on their goals and aspirations.

Strengthen, Protect, & Heal the Lower Back with Desiree Rumbaugh

40 min class | Level: All Levels | Intensity: Everyday Namaste

We all have habits and some are better than others. If you have chronic back pain anytime during the day or in your practice, check your posture. It can be that simple and yet it will take some work to change. In this class we will be working to change our patterns using strength as well as myo-fascial release to create new ways of moving. If you experience back pain during this class, ask yourself if it feels like injury pain or just stiffness. With stiffness it is common to have some "discomfort" when doing cat cow or lying over a block. The integration of abdominal strength with any kind of backbending exercise will ultimately relieve the pain. Get ready for a new lower back experience!


Focus on Form: Backbends & Inversions with Patrick Montgomery

65 min class | Level: Intermediate | Intensity: You'll Feel It

In this Align & Flow class, detailed techniques are given for opening the shoulders and upper back. This sequence does not meander, it's a Suryanamaskar-based warm up, including Pinche Mayurasana (forearm stand) and gets down to the business of back bending. Urdhva Dhanurasana (Full Wheel) is the apex pose. Perfect for backbend lovers and anyone who wants to feel more radiant.
