Moon Salutations, called Chandra Namaskar, are a variation of the classic Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar) and are designed to be relaxing and restorative for the body and mind. The Moon is of particular importance in Hatha Yoga as "ha" means sun and "tha" means moon. Hatha Yoga then is meant to bring unity and balance between these two opposites. While the sun it warming and invigorating, the moon is cooling and calming and these salutations are meant to celebrate and promote all that the moon has to offer.
This amazing class is great for any time of day, but is especially beneficial when performed in the evening as the series of poses is designed to calm the mind and relax every muscle in the body.

Not a bad flow, but if you have knee pain when doing lunges on your knees, I would strongly recommend doing the Lunar Flow #1 class at night instead.

This is my new favorite class, and a perfect way to wind down before bed (though series of moon salutations at the beginning are fairly fast-paced). If, like me you have trouble with the plough pose, this is preferable to the lunar flow #1, and is also better for a stretching out the back (sorely needed after sitting all day at an office desk!). Agree that the instructor has a lovely, soothing and encouraging voice.

This is a great session to do by candlelight before bed. A great way to relax after a stressful day at work.

GREAT restorative, lunar flow yoga session. I`ve had a home yoga practice for years and loved this. It`s more of a restorative, gentle yoga sequence, but it`s a great one. Great cueing, great music. I love Yogadownload!
