Dave began practicing yoga in 2001 at a local gym, while looking for a temporary way to stay active after breaking his hand. While yoga may not have been the best choice for resting a broken bone, Dave did end up finding a true connection with the practice, which has grown to be an integral part of his life years later.
In 2005 Dave decided to begin a new journey, leaving full-time architectural practice to teach yoga, studying with Baron Baptiste. Dave is now a Certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, and has continued to work with Baron as an assistant at teacher trainings and national conferences. Dave has also studied with Seane Corn and with Rusty Wells, and has traveled with Seane as her assistant at trainings and conferences. He has attended workshops by Ana Forrest, John Friend, and Shiva Rea.
In 2007 Dave was chosen to be an Ambassador for Lululemon Athletica, working with Lulu to promote community yoga events, along with providing input on clothing designs and appearing in advertising campaigns.
A graduate of UCLA, Dave moved to Colorado in the early 1990s to earn a masters degree from CU, and has called the state home ever since. From snowboarding in the winter to triathlons or mountain bike racing in the summer, Dave is always looking to take advantage of all the Rocky Mountains have to offer. International travel is also a passion, including reaching the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2006. Dave continues to work as an architect on selected projects and as a consultant for statewide political campaigns.
