Haslem is a modern-day bard and storyteller, but he is primarily heralded as one of the finest non-native players of the hammered dulcimer. He makes continuing innovations in the style of this ancient Celtic instrument, both in composing original material and in employing non-traditional influences and instrumental accompaniments.
