This class walks you through a series of yoga poses designed to strengthen the spine, as well as stretch and lengthen all of the muscles in the back, helping to reduce or eliminate many back pain problems. This class contains a spinal balance, forward and gentle backward bends, twists, spine strengtheners, and a bit of abdominal work to counter all of the back muscle work and keep the body balanced. Your back and your whole body will feel amazing! This is a slow-paced class and is perfect for men, people who are new to yoga, as well as students of any level.

I like this series, very basic but good. I understand they need to make the series understandable for people new to yoga but using the traditional yoga names _and_ using more basic/descriptive names would educate the new people and make the series more understandable for experienced folks. In all it isn t a big deal, after a couple of times you know what she is talking about.
Re: the series itself. I thought having rabbit ("grab heels roll forward") so early in the series (second pose) was awkward. That is, or can be, a very intense stretch that I am only comfortable doing once warmed up and flexible.
A similar comment on "seated forward fold", that is a very intense stretch and a good lead in to that is individual/right then left leg stretches. This may be more personal preference, my hamstrings are so tight that it is impractical/counterproductive for me to try and do forward fold w/out prepping my legs first. |

I really hurt my back and nothing was helping. After doing this class for 3 days, I felt a difference. After doing the class almost daily for a month, my back no longer hurt. I went slow, listened to my body, and concentrated on good form. Amazing! Highly recommend!

This is indeed a good class for a good back stretch, but I found the instructors voice and guidance less relaxing than the other classes I ve tried (such as the gentle hatha yoga). I also often found the instructions for transition from one post to another confusing, and it didn t help that the instructor didn t use traditional yoga names for most of the poses.

This is an excellent yoga class. This class has fewer standing/power poses and more seated/calm poses. It really helps your back feel good.

This program was a godsend to me. I suffer from 2 herniated and 1 bulging disk in my lumbar spine. After the first session my pain was nearly gone. I have to be careful with forward bending, but the spine strengthening, abs, and spine twisting moves all help to relieve my chronic pain.

This is a fantastic class for chronic back pain. I wish they would make another one since I've done this one so many times.

This is a great workout if you have lower back pain. My back pain is usually in the middle of my back (from sitting in an office chair and driving). I like the Detox Yoga #1 (20 min) or Power Yoga #1 (45 min). These both do a great job on my middle back pain.
